Wednesday Evening Open House

8:00 - 9:00 Sitting (with chanting, kinhin and reading) in Zendo

Weekend Meditation Retreats

Weekend sittings are usually on the second weekend of the month, 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM on Saturday and 4:30 AM - Noon on Sunday. The next meditation retreats are July 8-10, 2016 and August 12-14, 2016.

  • Friday, July 8:
  • 7:30 P.M. Film: Three Modules from the Teaching Company series The Science of Mindfulness: Tailoring Practices to Fit Changing Needs; Modifying Our Brain Function and Structure; Solitude, An Antidote to Loneliness. Admission is free.

  • Saturday July 9:
  • 9:00 - 12:00 Noon Zazen with Chanting
    12:00 Noon - 1:30 P.M. Lunch Break
    1:30 - 4:30 P.M. Zazen with a reading
    4:30 - 6:00 P.M. Dinner Break
    6:00 - 9:00 P.M. Zazen with walking meditation

  • Sunday, July 10:
  • 4:30 A.M. - 7:30 A.M. Morning Zazen
    7:30 A.M. - 9:00 A.M. Breakfast
    9:00 - 12:00 Noon Zazen with a reading
Experienced meditators preferred. Readings for this retreat will come from The Book Of Serenity, translated by Thomas Cleary. Wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing. Bring your own meals or prepare to eat out, since food is not provided, except for popcorn and lemonade with the movie on Friday night. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of any meditation block.
